Geofence time clock

Employees clock in at the job site. Nowhere else.

ShiftFence is a GPS geofence time clock for crews spread across many sites — parking and valet, security, staffing, cleaning and construction. Every clock-in is checked against the site's fence on our servers, so no more punching in from the bus or the parking lot down the street.

Job site

Shift starts at 9:00.

Is your crew actually there?

How geofenced clock-in works

  1. 1

    Draw the fence

We map each job site and set its radius for you — including garages, gates and large lots.

  2. 2

    Worker taps Clock in

Their phone sends a fresh GPS reading. Our servers measure the distance to the site.

  3. 3

    Accepted or refused

Inside the fence, the punch gets official server time. Outside, it's refused and the attempt is logged.

Why ShiftFence is different

  • Location is checked on our servers, not trusted from the phone.
  • Punches can't be edited or deleted — fixes are approved corrections that keep the original.
  • No selfies or face scans, so no biometric data to store.
  • Done-for-you setup: we map your sites, load your crew and train your managers.
  • Late and no-show alerts so you can cover a post within minutes.
  • Payroll-ready PDF and Excel reports with your logo, and proof reports for your clients.

Built for parking & valet, security, staffing, cleaning and construction crews. See pricing.

Geofence time clock FAQ

What is a geofence time clock?+

A geofence time clock only accepts a clock-in when the worker's phone reports a location inside a virtual boundary drawn around the job site. ShiftFence draws a radius around each site and refuses punches from outside it.

How does ShiftFence check the location?+

When a worker taps Clock in, the phone sends a fresh GPS reading and our servers measure the distance to the site. The decision is made on the server, not the phone, and every punch is stamped with official server time.

Does geofencing track employees all day?+

No. Location is read when a worker clocks in, clocks out or starts and ends a break. Optional on-shift check-ins only run if the company enables them, the worker agrees, and the app is open. Nothing runs after clock-out.

Can workers fake GPS to clock in?+

ShiftFence rejects poor-accuracy readings, flags impossible travel speeds and shared phones, and logs every refused attempt. No phone-based check can fully rule out sophisticated spoofing or prove who is holding the phone.

Does it work in parking garages and large sites?+

Yes. Each site gets its own radius, so you can set the fence to cover an entrance, gate or ramp where workers still have signal. A parking company uses it today, including crews clocking in at garages.
